This high-cut features three-dimensional embroidery of both a "pine tree" and an "ume tree" (plum/Japanese apricot tree), both of which have been loved as good-luck charms since ancient times.Ume blossoms bloom beautifully in the cold of winter, which symbolizes endurance and leaping ahead, bringing good fortune and good luck for the year.Pine trees have long been considered lucky trees because they are green and do not change color even in winter, meaning that they do not change their mind, and symbolizing health and longevity.
The embroidery is three-dimensional, using the techniques of the embroidery studio Duomo, based in Kameoka, Kyoto, Japan. Duomo combines traditional and modern embroidery techniques cultivated for over 30 years. Like Spingle, Duomo uses the techniques it has developed over the years at its own factory in Japan to give form to overflowing imaginations, dreams, and inquisitiveness. The embroidery studio's vision is to “bring Japanese crafts from Kyoto to the world."
